After entering high school, he made his professional debut at the age of 16. Joined "Isao Suzuki Group", "Toshiyuki Miyama & New Hard" in 1970, and joined "Terumasa Hino Quintet " in 1972. In 1975, he released his first album[TOKI]. Since then, he has been leading the jazz scene of Japan as a top player that everyone recognizes. In 1979, he appeared in the Montreux Jazz Festival as a member of "Naoya Matsuoka & Wesing" . From 1985, he formed "CHICKEN SHACK" with Junji Yamagishi and played an active part in the fusion scene. On the other hand, he has been generously helping other genres of artists. Among them, Tatsuro Yamashita's support for 30 years is famous and has left many famous performances.
