Shun Kumagai

He was Born in Sendai city, Miyagi prefecture He graduated from Berklee College of Music in the USA. (Bachelor of Music) Currently he enrolled in Jazz Performance major of the Music course at New England Conservatory in the USA. In February 2014, He passed the Berklee College Music Admission Audition. He earned both scholarships of the Berklee World Scholarship and Suntory Music Scholarship. He studied with Bill Pierce (Art Blakey & Jazz messengers), Jim Odgren and Jeff Harrington. He researched about the jazz "Bebop" of the 1940 's as his research theme at Berklee. Also, he performed as a guest player at the event where Prime Minister Abe and Ambassador of the US Ambassador to Japan of Caroline Kennedy attended, a private residence of the Boston Red Sox owner and performing in front of Japanese First lady, Abe Akie. He has invited performances at numerous Japanese-American related. In December 2016, I graduated from Berklee with Magna Cum Laud and got a BM.​ ​ Now, He has studied at New England Conservatory of Music in Boston,USA and studied with Jerry Bergonzi, Bill Pierce, Richard Stoltzman and Kenneth Radnofsky.
