IRIE JAZZ SESSION biography Saxophonist "MONKY"(formerly of Black Bottom Brass Band), and Guitarist "THG", two powerhouses of the Japanese Jazz, Funk and Jam scenes formed "IRIE JAZZ SESSION" in 2016 in order to explore cross pollination of Jazz with different genres of music and beyond. They brought on reggae Bass and Guitar brothers "Kobayashi Brothers" to join the band. Elder brother Shinju's solid bass groove and young brother Yota's guitar, beats and vocal. As a foursome, IRIE JAZZ SESSION play Jazz standards in Reggae, groove and solo over Reggae Riddim with a jazzy twist, and even Japanese old pop songs with a distinct flavor only they can provide. Based out of the Shonan seaside, IRIE JAZZ SESSION has a strong fan following in this artist hub area situated perfectly between the Tokyo Metropolis and Mt. Fuji. 2021 sees the release of their first single "Take Five"
