A thin spider's thread stretches into the tense air. With hope in the ray of faint pale light shining through the clouds, I follow the thread toward the sky and I climb up. The title is named from the fact that the story evoked by the song overlaps with the work "The Spider's Thread" by the famous Japanese novelist Ryunosuke Akutagawa. "coconoe" is a Japanese ambient pop group of three members from different genres. Sounds travel between their private studios in Kyoto and Kobe, and their style is to create their work as if they're coating it with colors in layers. One of the trackmakers is kita kouhei, an electronica ambient artist who is accepted by musicians. He is a player of Array Mbira that is a rare instrument globally, and he has an outstanding sense of rhythm and lyrical melodies as a professional drummer. The other track maker is Shingo Mimura, a post-classical artist who creates distinctive piano sounds and melodies that beauty and fragility are mixed. He is highly acclaimed for visual and artistic expressiveness with large-scale arrangements. The vocalist and lyricist is takayama naoko, a pop singer with a reputation for lyrics that bring scenes to mind and soul-stirring voices. She was selected from among 6,800 groups and won a special prize at an audition, and later debuted with major labels, and succeeded with anime songs. The characteristic of "coconoe" is to weave the individuality of three members, sounds of daily life such as glasses and doors, and sounds of nature into the music as "pieces of sound".

The origins of the name "coconoe" lie in the Japanese terms: "Kokono-e" (literally "ninefold", meaning "to pile up") and "Koko-no-e" (which means "the pictures drawn by individual people"). A union of these homophones, their namesake represents a place where "individually-drawn paintings overlap and become one sound and world".
