The long awaited first album from Hiro Kimura, one of the most in demand drummers of his generation in Japan! This album shows Hiro's current standpoint displaying not only his foundation in jazz but also incorporates various elements such as pop music and Brazilian music. Eight generational talents have joined the act including Kohei Ando (aka MELRAW) who has a widespread reputation from pop music to jazz, Akiha Nakashima whose first album is gaining attention, and Mao Soné who has been dubbed the "two way wonder of jazz" in his major label release and made a successful appearance at Blue Note Tokyo. The album consists of eight original compositions by Hiro inspired by nature and the seasons, and one arrangement of a jazz standard. Hiro's talent extend even to drawing the album's cover art.

Hiro Kimura

Hiro Kimura is a drummer who appears in many opportunities such as recordings and live-concerts in the Japanese jazz scene. Recently he works with his quintet, Mao Soné Group, Quin' Krantz, and more active music groups.
Hiro Kimura was born in Akashi, Hyogo, in 1988. He started playing drums when he was 12. He studied his elementary music skills at the brass band at his local high school and studied drums with Masahiko Osaka at Senzoku Gakuen University. After his graduation from Senzoku Gakuen, he received a scholarship to study at Berklee College Of Music, where he studied with Ralph Peterson and Hal Crook.
He has performed with well-known artists such as Kaori Kobayashi, Mao Soné, Sumire Kuribayashi at festivals and concerts, including The National Cherry Blossom Festival and Blues Alley in Washington DC.
