“Hiroshi Yokoyama” just dropped the new and hot Album “Sonatas and Interludes for Prepared Piano”. The harpsichordist Hiroshi Yokoyama reconstructed the 20th century classical music "Sonata and Interlude" for Prepared Piano (1948) with a historical approach, becoming only the second Japanese to record the entire work since Yuji Takahashi's sensational recording in 1975. The sound of the prepared piano, obtained through "correct preparation," is noble in its exoticism. The tones produced by the carefully calculated bolts and screws are infinitely folded when the damper pedal is pressed continuously... Our understanding of the piano as an instrument is strongly shaken. This is not a piano. It is a "well-tempered" percussion ensemble.
