At age 16, he formed the band "LAZY", and later debut in 1977. With success in songs such as "Akazukin Chan Goyoujin(赤頭巾ちゃんご用心)" and "DREAMER", after LAZY disbanded, he started his solo career in anime and tokusatsu(特撮) theme song by recording the theme song for "Dengeki Sentai ChangeMan" of the Super-Sentai series. Since then, he participated in many anime and tokusatsu theme songs, including "Saint Shinwa ~ Soldier Dream", theme song of the famous anime Saint Seiya. In 1989, the opening theme song for Dragon Ball Z, "CHA-LA HEAD-CHA-LA" recorded 1.3 million copies sales. Current leader of the famous anime song group "JAM Project", and continued to receive offers to play in the "ANISON" event from countries across the world every year since 2003. In 2008, he led JAM Project to a world tour of 10 cities across 8 countries, which very few Japanese artists could achieve. As an important piece to the anime world, he has made numerous famous songs and continues to work actively not only in Japan, but also worldwide such as in Brazil, Argentine, Spain, Taiwan, etc.. As his own lifework, he actively performed in acoustic live shows across Japan and stayed active in many fields. In 2010, JAM Project produced and released their 10th anniversary album, followed by live shows in around 20 domestic and foreign locations, including two days in Budokan. In July 2012, JAM Project went on their first tour in South America (Brazil, Peru, Chile, Argentine). In February 2013, they performed in Osaka Castle Hall and Yokohama Arena for their first time. In 2014, they played in the mega-event Lantis Festival, also played the Lantis festical in 2015, along with shows in Las Vegas, Hong Kong, Singapore, Korea, Shanghai, Taiwan. Last year they played in Kobe World Memorial Hall and Yokohama Arena for celebration of 15th anniversary. Also, for his 40th anniversary in solo career, he released an 40th anniversary album in July last year, and performed a 40th anniversary celebration show in September.
