-Origin of the Media Name-
The term "gyaru" is used overseas to describe Japanese gals, and is widely recognized as a uniquely Japanese culture. The total number of views has reached 160 million. The name "KOGYARU" was created by combining the word "GYARU" with "kogyaru" (a word used to describe high school girls in those days) and "Kodomo gyaru," which was also a popular word in the 1990s. The short videos posted on KOGYARU have generated a huge buzz, recording 30 million views, and the number of Instagram followers exceeded 250,000 in the first six months after its launch.
