“GROUND REVERSE” released the new music Album “RE20”

GROUND REVERSE rebooted. After 20 years, the new album Re20 is finally here! In the year 2000, GROUND REVERSE released their compilation album Kyogen which became a landmark in the underground music scene in Japan. The following year, they released a self titled 12 inch record GROUND REVERSE and an album TENGAKU. However, despite the growing fanbase and prospects, GROUND REVERSE went into a long hiatus. During the last 20 years, Manathol kept himself busy as a producer and mixer mastering many records, all the while creating music under his name as well as many other pseudonym. In 2008, Manathol released his first solo album BAKETO featuring the artwork of Rika Ishii who later went to work with Adrian Sherwood. In 2019, he released a collection of breaks HIGHWAY HIGH BREAKS. Manathol holds exceptional position in the scene for his achievement such as the live collaboration with MERZBOW a.k.a. Akita Masami and being drafted to open for AUTECHRE at their Tokyo performance. Meanwhile, Jody Tenku has also been prolific. He orchestrated TENGAKU DUB, a gang of multi-talented recording artists. It is often regarded as an heir to the genes of AUDIO ACTIVE. As a guitarist, he founded THE FACTORS with a female vocalist Saki. They released four albums and an EP and performed at festivals such as Fuji Rock Festival and Burning Man. The EP titled LINDO was produced by Kenji Jammer (Simply Red) and K.U.D.O (Major Force). Jody is also recording and mixing engineer as well as the proprietor of BIWA STUDIO which he inherited in 2003 after the death of his father, Fumio Miyashita, who was a pioneer in the ambient music scene in Japan and in recent years regained international attention through Light in The Attic release of KANKYO ONGAKU. Jody's talent and skills are evident through large catalogue of work as well as the numerous artists who enjoy recording at the studio. In 2020, it was rumored that GROUND REVERSE was back together again. In the summer of 2021, the rumor became reality when they completed seven new tracks. The new album Re20 is their response to their two decade long hiatus and with this, GROUND REVERSE was rebooted into the new era.
