“MEGTARO” released the new music Album “World Painter”

"In Thoughtful" and "Leaping Up" from their second album "Newselves" released in 2020 have been picked up by multiple playlists on Spotify and have been played over 3.6 million times. On March 19, 2022, MEGTARO will release their third duo album called "World Painter". This album is about going on a journey and each songs are our messages. We need to get out from unheard of happening in the world. Look outside once again and watch what is going on, do what you can do, create your own life with your loved ones and people you will meet in the future! Like a painting a world you have never seen on the white canvas. One of the highlights of the songs is the profound sound that you would not expect from just two people playing together. Also they have much strong Jazz flavor than before. Compared to the first album, which had a healing theme, and the second album, which had a refreshing theme, this album seems like round world adventure. The recording, mixing, and mastering have done at Dede Studio, the music studio of Akihito Yoshikawa, who is active both in Japan and around the world. In this time he challenged a new panning technique that is unique to the duo, and the more you listen to it, the more you will appreciate it. This album is a must listen for audiophiles, and jazz enthusiasts outside Japan will also enjoy it. The album is designed to tell a story from the beginning to the end, and not to get tired even if you listen it over and over again. The album includes "Newselves" which is MEGTARO's first collaborative work, "Ame" is a transcription of the sound of rain and scenes outside, "This Made My Day" is a ballad that captures a scene from everyday life, "The Ninja Star" is about the ninja reveals the secrets of the world, "For Good" is a song that expresses a desire to be handed down from generation to generation, and "Fool Around" is for having fun and exiting moment, etc... MEGTARO

MEGTARO is an instrumental band from Tokyo, Japan since 2015. The members are Megumi Otani(piano) and Kentaro Nakayama(drums). Basic format is piano and drums DUO style. Mostly MEGTARO performs member's original songs which are colorful, emotional, and peaceful with using jazz vocabulary. MEGTARO has a wide variety of projects such as piano and drums DUO, piano trio, trio with sax, vocal and tap dance, quartet and quintet. Moreover, the DUO has three albums "Arise"(2018), "Newselves"(2020) and "World Painter"(2022). Each song describes nature, special visual scene, member's experience and thought. 
 Megumi Otani is a professional pianist, composer and arranger. She started to play piano and Electone in YAMAHA when she was 3 years old. She became a winner of "Japan Junior Electone Competition 2004" when she was 15 years old. Since then, she started her career as a professional musician. Megumi's major style is jazz after graduating from Tokyo College of Music in 2012. Also her style makes her a versatile sideman such as Pop, R&B and Gospel keyboardist, a recording musician, a composer and an arranger of TV program and advertisement songs, and many others. 
 Kentaro Nakayama is a professional jazz drummer. In 2006, Kentaro accepted his scholarship and started to study jazz and contemporary music at Berklee College of Music. In 2010, Kentaro moved to NYC to start his career as a professional drummer after graduating from Berklee College of Music. During this time, Clarence Penn became his mentor. In 2014, he moved back to Japan and started his career as a leader of "MEGTARO". Currently his style is based on jazz but is flexible so that it becomes him a versatile sideman. On the other hand, he began to start his career as an educator for all kinds of drumming, especially jazz drumming, with 9 years of experience in U.S.A.
