“Keiichiro Shibuya” released the new music Album “ATAK025 xxxHOLiC”

Keiichiro Shibuya's new electronic music album is a soundtrack for the film "xxxHOLiC" directed by Mika Ninagawa. In contrast to Midnight Swan by a piano solo, which won major film music awards in 2020, this album consists of complete electronic sound with 21 tracks, including collaborations with sound artist evala and Buddhist chant Eizen Fujiwara. Music was mixed by Kiri Stensby in NYC and mastered by Enyang Urbiks in Berlin, and crosses minimal, noise, drone, techno, dub, and even Buddhist music with a motif that reflects diffusely as if in response to a film in extremely colorful settings. The album cover is a photograph shot by director Mika Ninagawa.

Keiichiro Shibuya

Composer and Musician. Born in 1973. B.A. in music composition, Tokyo University of the Arts. In 2002, established ATAK, a music label releasing CDs of cutting-edge electro-acoustic works by various artists from all over the world. He has produced a lot of music works, such as film music, sound installation, etc. In 2012, released the first vocaroid opera "THE END" at YCAM, Japan. Starting with the performance in Theatre du Chatelet in Paris, it has been showed and requested to perform all over the world. In 2018, released Android Opera "Scary Beauty", a humanoid android with AI conducts a human orchestra and sings with them. In September 2019, he released a new work "Heavy Requiem" - Buddhist Chant: Shomyo + Electronics at Ars Electronica. He continuously challenges to push the boundary between human and technology, while he creates various range of work from piano solo to electronic music and opera. In August 2020, a new opera "Super Angels" (conductor: Kazushi Ohno, scriptwriter: Masahiko Shimada) will be released at the New National Theatre.
