Tomoko Sonoda

Born in Tokyo. Enrolled in "Modern Jazz Study Group" while attending Waseda University. Since she was in school, she has been playing at a live house near Tokyo. In 1999, she launched his own full band "Tomoko Sonoda Ichiza" and its development 10-piece band "Shiranui Starlights", and the event "STREET" held in Kumamoto Castle, Kamikumamoto Station Building, Takasezo, and Kumamoto City Arcade Street. Performing unique performance activities such as participating in "ART-PLEX Kumamoto jazz open". In February 2018, the "Sister Cities Jazz Band" consisting of jazz musicians from 11 sister cities was invited to the "300th Anniversary of Municipal Administration" in San Antonio, Texas, which is a sister city of Kumamoto. Participated as a pianist in (participated in an online session consisting of jazz musicians from 14 countries around the world while the place of activity was reduced due to the corona disaster in August 2020). For the past few years, in addition to the performance activities of his own trio consisting of Shota Koyama ds Hiroshi Yoshino bass, Sumiko Yoseiyama vocal Seiji Tada as Shizue Kuroiwa vocal Hideaki Kanazawa regular tours with veteran musicians such as bass, inside and outside Kumamoto city, Performing activities in Kyushu prefectures, Tokyo, and Sapporo. He has also presided over a monthly "tryout session" at "CIB", a live spot in Kumamoto City for over 10 years.
