The term "gyaru" is used overseas to describe Japanese gals, and is widely recognized as a uniquely Japanese culture. The total number of views has reached 160 million. The name "KOGYARU" was created by combining the word "GYARU" with "kogyaru" (a word used to describe high school girls in those days) and "Kodomo gyaru," which was also a popular word in the 1990s.
