dk. will release a new single "Yoake" on December 1st.
His previous work, under the name D&ThE Rooftops, reached number one on the iTunes chart despite being his debut work. New and up-and-coming singer-songwriter and producer dk.
As with his previous work, the vocals and all the instruments were recorded at his private studio, studio.on. It is amazing that he wrote the lyrics, composed the music, and performed and programmed all the vocals and instruments by himself.
The title of this work, his first in two years, is "Yoake".
During the production, he was in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. He spent every day working on the project, believing that the dawn would come someday. At the end of 2023, when the COVID-19 pandemic ended, he suffered from physical and mental problems and almost gave up on completing the project. However, with the support of those around him and his own inner rebirth, he gradually recovered over the course of a year and resumed production.
This was his long-awaited release under his new name, "dk."
The sound is based on a soul/funk groove, with densely intertwined guitar and bass strings, a stunning intro reminiscent of the 90s, and dk.'s unique sweet and soulful vocals and stunning chorus work are fully displayed. The words "Let's go, someday the dawn will break" are strangely and exquisitely intertwined with his own story. Perfect mix and mastering by studio.SWING. This is the debut song and a masterpiece of his comeback. dk. is also planning to release collaborations with great artists in the future, and this is a truly powerful song that makes us, the listeners, even more excited.
