This is a piece of work that Mitsutoshi Anbe created with Katsuhiko Takahashi, a writer who won the Naoki Prize, one of Japan's greatest literary prizes. This work was born out of a poem that Takahashi, who had stopped writing since the Great East Japan Earthquake of March 11, 2011, feeling powerless to write a novel, delivered to Anbe, whose hometown is in Iwate, one of the disaster-stricken areas, in 2021, 10 years after the disaster. The lyrics near the end of the poem, "I want to die," must have been the voice of the victims' hearts at the time, which they had been warning themselves against even if they wanted to put it into words. The seemingly glamorous world of the disaster victims is now a dark and gloomy place, filled with war, corona, poverty, and other problems. All you want to do is to cry. ...... Anbe's voice is so soothing that it seems to speak for the feelings of those who are now being beaten down.
