“Wataru Sato” released the new music Album “Piano Meditations II”

“Wataru Sato” just dropped the new and hot Album “Piano Meditations II”. It will contain the songs 'Deep Loop', 'Broken Trees', 'Sleepless', 'End of Dream', 'Lost Time', 'Trail to Our forest', 'Waterdrop', 'Your Silence, My Noise', 'Tail of Rain Cloud' and 'Ash Like Snow' total of 18songs. This is his new piano-improvisation album performed by Wataru Sato,who has energetically been creating post-classical and electronic titles,and is also the leader of Gecko&Tokage Parade which is known as a new star of modern-jazz scene in Japan. Piano Meditations which was released in 2020,early days of coronavirus pandemic consists of improvisations intermittently recorded by Wataru for over 3 years. This new album"Piano Meditations II" mainly collects pieces recorded at Canon House Kamakura,Japan,which has also been used for recording of his previous album"Fading Spaces." Among the pieces,some pieces are scattered,recorded by his private pianos(Yamaha,Kawai) and OHHASHI piano(Japanese vintage piano) belonging to anre*f studio yatsugatake(located on the midslope of Yatsugatake mountain.),which gently link various relation,places and time bases. The improvisations are never too abstract but listeners will hear the transition of time and places. This is also the first release from his new record label"Bookshop Label" and this album will be released in both digital and cassette tape(lately) formats.

Wataru Sato

Wataru Sato/Gecko is a pianist born and living in Kanagawa,Japan. Under the name of Gecko, he has been creating various of works based on electronica and modern-classic music since 2010. Under the name of Wataru Sato,his real name,he shows the unique piano-solo performance influenced by minimal and modern-classic,and his melody is fluent and melancholic, He has been released several albums with piano solos,trio format or quintet formats etc. He is also a leader and pianist of Gecko&Tokage Parade, Japanese fusion and modern jazz band. Currently they belong to the Japanese jazz label Playwright and keep performing at several famous venues(Cotton Club,Motion Blue yokohama etc.) and on domestic and overseas jazz festivals. He has been studying and improving his piano under the minimal pianist Lubomyr Melnyk(Erased Tapes).
