“Dissecting Table” released the new music Album “Catastrophe”

In order to make a novel tune, a new filter was developed using two state variable filters. This newly developed filter is used by 5th and 6th tracks of this work. The state variable filter can output the signal of a low-pass filter, bandpass filter, and high-pass filter. Here, the 1st state variable filter is referred to as Filter 1, and the 2nd state variable filter as Filter 2. This new filter connects the output of the low-pass filter of Filter 1 to the input of Filter 2, and connects the output of the high-pass filter of Filter 2 to the input of Filter 1. The output of the new filter is an output of the bandpass filter of Filter 1. The center frequency and sensitivity of the bandpass filter of Filter 1 are controllable by an analogue photocoupler. The signal that carries out the frequency division of the input signal of the new filter with the binary counter is used for the control signal of the analogue photocoupler, which controls the center frequency of the bandpass filter of Filter 1. The signal that carries out the frequency division of the input signal of the new filter with the binary counter is inverted by the inverter and used as the control signal of the analogue photocoupler, which controls the sensitivity of the bandpass filter of Filter 1. Furthermore, the control signal output from a universal serial bus (USB) device is input into the CLR terminal of a binary counter, through which the sensitivity of the new filter is controlled. For example, if 5V is input into a CLR terminal, all the output terminals of the binary counter will output 0V. A USB device connects with a computer through USB interfaces and outputs the input signal and control signal of the new filter. SN74HC4040 of Texas Instruments is used for the binary counter. Filter 2 controls a low sensitivity using a resistor, and controls the cut-off frequency of high-pass filter by a variable resistance. Moreover, the switch is used for the feedback circuit that connects the output of the high-pass filter of Filter 2 to the input of Filter 1. By isolating this circuit with a switch, the new filter can be used as a bandpass filter. The timbre of the developed filter is simple. However, because the timbre of other filters that constitute a synthesizer system is complicated, a simple timbre is felt in contrast to be novel.

Dissecting Table

Ichiro Tsuji was born in 1966. He started working on noise/industrial music for his band named "Dissecting Table" in Tokyo in 1986. He returned to his hometown of Hiroshima in 1998, and has been pursuing musical activities ever since. His records and compact disks have been released under the independent label of the UPD organization, and under labels in Europe and the United States. In the first and middle stage of his career he controlled the synthesizer and sampler by the sequencer, but since 2012, the works have been produced by controlling PWM signals output from a USB device on a computer. Lately the work is being made by developing an original synthesizer system.
