Ambient musician Kita Kouhei, who invites listeners into the realm of deep consciousness with serene rhythmic sounds, and poet Daisuke Manai, whose work revolves around the theme of "the true nature of what sustains our lives", have come together for a collaborative poetry reading album titled "Letters of eighty thousand light years", released on October 2.
This work features ten poetic pieces narrated by Daisuke Manai himself, weaving together a story that connects the distant galaxy of "eighty thousand light years" and the scenery on Earth, as suggested by the album's title. Kita Kouhei masterfully layers a variety of tones, crafting a profound ambient soundscape.
The serene and meditative soundscape emerges as the transparent reading by Daisuke Manai melds with the performance of various textural instruments, including the Array Mbira, which produces water-like tones.
