As indicated by the title, "Strings," the composition of this piece involves strings and thread instruments. Noteworthy in WasaVi's work is his use of sound to create scenery. In the opening section, where the cello takes the lead; the sound of strings warmly wraps around the listener. This section was created to evoke the image of being protected in the womb, in other words, by the maternal figure. In the following division, the sound of pizzicato portrays the innocence and curiosity of childhood. As the song goes on, it intensifies like the raging sea, immersing the listener in an illusion of being swallowed by rough waves. As stated at the beginning, this work is written with "freedom" as its theme. Does freedom mean happiness? Do all people need to chase what they want to be? The lyrics portray the anguish hidden within the hopeful word "freedom" in a raw and honest manner; which is a must to hear.
