YUKO MUKAI

Yuko Mukai was born in Yokohama, Japan. Yuko's parents were music lovers, she grew up with her mother reading picture books to her from the age of zero. She began playing the piano at the age of four and a half and took piano lessons with her older sister from an early age. She graduated from Kunitachi College of Music, Department of Instrumental Music, Piano Course. She completed postgraduate studies in chamber piano at the Freiburg University of Music and Performing Arts, Freiburg, Germany Yuko passed the German National Examination for Artistic Talent "Prüfung der Künstlerischen Reife". Master of Music ("Master Musik, Hauptfach Klavierkammermusik") First prize in the piano duo category at the KONZERTEUM International Piano Competition Highest prize in the piano duo category at the "Lu Muse" Cava de Tirreni International Piano Competition Winner of the Excellence Award in the General Category at the 3rd Fusa no Kuni Children's Song Writing and Composition Contest (2021). Yuko created the "Ohanashi Piano" series of music picture book videos with her own poetry, music, illustration, and piano. She received Special Award in the Yumekana Yell Project "Music Video Contest 2023 vol.4". The title of the music picture book video "Irunokana" which means "I wonder if she is there".
