TEH SKALP

THE SKALP profile Formed in 1997 with friends who love their hometown of Toyama and ska. Started operations with an eight-person formation including the horn squad. At first, they were a copy band, but when they decided to support RUDE BONES in Toyama, they started their original activities. After that, they took advantage of the indie ska band trend and performed with many ska bands that came to the prefecture, and released five albums, including a compilation, on indie labels in Osaka and Nagoya. From 1999 to 2000, they actively performed live in Tokyo, Nagoya, and other prefectures, but gradually their activities focused on Toyama Prefecture. From there, the long-running independently planned SKA event [NOON SKA] began. Up until now, there have been several member changes to reach the current membership, and THE SKALP will celebrate its 26th anniversary in 2023, and we are moving forward in order to keep Toyama's ska scene alive!
