salta

salta is a sound artist born in 2004 in Toyama Prefecture, Japan. She began writing music structures as ideas at the age of 14 and started creating music using a Mac at the age of 16. She was introduced to contemporary music as a high school student by millennium parade and its member Shun Ishiwaka, and came to base his own style of work on it. Often using pain as her own concept, she repeats thoughts and developments, and creates sounds that seem random but have complex regularities in her own unique way, without being bound by any theories or genres. She composed music for a work by the Butoh company "Izanami," led by Taiki Iwamoto of Sankai Juku, and won the Award for Excellence in the SAI DANCE FESTIVAL COMPETITION category in 2022. Also, at Strange Seed Shizuoka in May 2023, he participated as DJ and sound for "Connecting Wonderful Coincidences," an interactive work by Kyukaku Ushio, a unit founded by Tomohiko Tsujimoto and Mirai Moriyama. She has also served as musician for several other events and performances throughout Japan. After graduating from Tonami High School in Toyama Prefecture, she is currently enrolled in the Music Environment Creation Course at Senzoku Gakuen College of Music (1st year).
