Enjoy the Jazz sound from the far east Asia.

Georges Moustaki, the composer of M1. "My Solitude," is a leading singer-songwriter who inherits the French tradition. "Ma Solitude" (Japanese title: My Solitude) was used as the theme song for the TV drama "A Rose-Colored Life" broadcast on TBS. The lyrics, which personify loneliness, are very unique, and Michiko Kumagai sings by overlapping her own life and the feelings of people who have lived long lives. *The lyrics she most wants to convey i.e. "That's fine the way it is." M2. "A Million Roses"The original song is a Latvian pop song. It was sung by Alla Pugacheva of the Soviet Union and became a hit in Japan. The lyrics are well known for the Japanese version by Tokiko Kato. Here, it is sung with the lyrics by Zenzo Matsuyama, and the passionate feelings of a poor painter are conveyed vividly. *The lyrics she most wants to convey i.e."Please give me all the roses." M3. "Ghost"A work by French singer Charles Trenet. A Western ghost with a different image from Japanese ghosts. Isn't there anyone who gets a little scared by the lyrics "I'm about to go out again, with a cupboard full of unfulfilled promises"? This song won the judges' special award at the "JCC National Competition". *The lyrics I want to convey the most i.e. "I'm about to lose again, to the temptation of wandering" M4. "Loneliness" This is a work by Barbara, a French chanson singer famous for her lyrics and composition and piano singing. Michiko Kumagai first heard this song as a chansonier, and was overwhelmed by the content and melody, and since then it has become one of her most important songs. With this song, she won second place at the "JCC East Japan Competition" and the Yomiuri Shimbun Award at the "Japan Chanson Competition". It is the only song on this CD that is sung only with piano accompaniment. *The lyrics I want to convey the most i.e. "I want to live without lying to myself, but that feeling always betrays me" M5. "Padam Padam" A song by Edith Piaf. An auditory hallucination of "Padam Padam Padam" haunts me day and night. Is it a sound blaming me for my many past loves, or is it the beating of my heart? It is said to be a song wrote in her later years, when Piaf was mentally ill and suffering from drug addiction. The original song is sung in 3/4, but here she sings in a 4/4 rhythm. *The lyrics she most wants to convey i.e. "Footsteps calling from a forgotten past" M6. "When will you come back?" Like "Loneliness", this is a song by Barbara. Kumagai Michiko, who likes to sing as if she is telling a story, chose this song to include on this CD. A woman in Paris is impatiently waiting for a man to return. Even though she knows he will not return, she repeatedly sings when he will return. "This kind of expression is the best part of chanson!" she says. *The lyrics she most wants to convey i.e "I don't want to hear it" M7. "Time passes" This song was written when Georges Moustaki was 35 years old. The original French title means "It's too late". Feeling a glimmer of hope in Koga Riki's Japanese lyrics, she sings "I sing for you" with feelings directed towards you. *The lyrics I want to convey the most i.e. "Time passes" M9.=Bonus track "Hymne à la vie" A work that sings Edith Piaf's "Hymne à l'amour" with lyrics that offer a new worldview Over 1 million views on YouTube
