KATAGI A.K.A. ALIENAZYN A.K.A. ALLTHESTARSWEWASTED is a Japanese rapper originally from Downtown Eastside Vancouver, an area known for its complex set of social issues including high levels of drug use, homelessness, poverty, crime, mental illness, and prostitution. KATAGI's music values the DIY ethics of punk rock and the anti mainstream nature of underground metal and alternative music. His lyrics deal with the ups and downs of human emotions as well as the absurdity of societies. And more than anything a mainstay of his lyrics is the battle between the wolf (the unique individual capable of thinking independently) and sheep (followers void of true character). Originally influenced by author Ayn Rand's Fountainhead and the birth of Grunge in Seattle, KATAGI fronted several punk and metal bands before launching his rap career in his new home of Tokyo Japan. Now in 2020, he is excited to see how rap music has evolved to include the influence of emo, metal, punk etc.
