A new milestone in contemporary modal/spiritual jazz is born. An overwhelmingly beautiful soundscape of rich emotion and inner energy. The album "Fukushima" by the Tokyo-based sextet led by saxophonist/flutist Shinsuke Fujieda is a truly timeless masterpiece that inherits the spirit of the modal\/spiritual jazz of the 1970s while exquisitely blending classical, world music and oriental elements. The sound is unique. The modal jazz of "Fukushima (edit)" is led by a flowing piano, "Float In Oriental Spring (edit)" has an oriental feel, "Silent Night (edit)" has a pleasant groove created by a tight rhythm and a supple bass line, and "Soprano Soprano (edit)" has an elegant string sound and a soprano soprano soprano soprano soprano soprano. The classical 'Nobody Knows (edit)' blends elegant strings with a soprano saxophone and 'Perspective (album ver)' is a spiritual jazz piece with sharp percussion.
