Peter Gallway & Yoshiyuki Sahashi
Born in 1947 in Long Island, New York. He spent his childhood in Greenwich Village and formed the band The Strangers with Kenny Altman and others in 1965. Although they released a single the following year, they failed commercially, and the band disbanded three years later. In 1969, he formed The Fifth Avenue Band with Altman and others, showcasing a sophisticated folk-rock sound, but this too did not lead to commercial success, and they disbanded. He then began a solo career in Los Angeles, releasing Ohio Knox in 1971 and a solo album the following year, but neither achieved significant hits. In the mid-1970s, he moved to Maine and distanced himself from the music scene, but he resumed his activities in 1978, prompted by a reevaluation in Japan. Starting with the release of On the Bandstand that same year, he released numerous solo albums and produced a reunion album for The Fifth Avenue Band in 1990. He also collaborated on projects such as Hat Check Girl with singer-songwriter Annie Gallup and Parker Gray with Harvey Jones. Gallway has also demonstrated his talents as a producer, working on tribute albums like Laura Nyros Time & Love (1997). He has a deep connection with Japan, having visited multiple times and established a significant partnership with Yoshiyuki Sahashi, who supports his musical activities.
