“Tatsuya Maruyama” released the new music Album “vista”

In Sapporo, a city in Hokkaido where urban development and nature coexist, a sense of nostalgia blends seamlessly with the new. Capturing this ever-changing landscape, Sapporo-born guitarist Tatsuya Maruyama paints a vivid soundscape using just one guitar. While he is known for his expressive open tuning style, this piece was composed in standard tuning to embrace chord progressions reminiscent of neo-soul. The guitar used in the recording was handcrafted by fellow Sapporo native Mr. Hayashi of HAYASHI Guitars - a crossover model that delivers a refined, urban tone distinct from traditional classical guitars.

Tatsuya Maruyama

Fingerstyle Guitarist Born in 1993 in Sapporo, Hokkaido. Currently based in Sendai, Miyagi. Started playing classical guitar at the age of 13 and began sharing music on YouTube at 14, marking the beginning of a musical journey. With just one guitar, creates a nostalgic yet urban sound through a variety of techniques. During university, selected as one of the 10 finalists from over 250 groups at the Sapporo City Jazz Park Jazz Live. In 2014, won the Audience Award at the Fingerpicking Contest hosted by Moridaira Gakki. Launched a full-fledged career as a guitarist in 2019, and as of 2024, has gained over 150,000 followers across social media. In 2023, collaborated with Headway Guitars to release a signature model, the HOC-NORTHBIRD. In recent years, has expanded into composing and producing music for TV shows, stage performances, and visual media. Also explores the fusion of fingerstyle guitar and lo-fi hip-hop through the solo project Mu Ted.
