The Cards I Play is an alternative nu-metal band hailing from Tokyo, Japan. Since their formation in 2019, they have been carving out a distinct presence in Japan's heavy music scene, rapidly building momentum with their explosive sound and raw energy. Fusing the intensity of metalcore, the grit of nu-metal, and the attitude of hip hop, the band delivers a genre-bending sound that feels both cutting-edge and unmistakably their own - bold, unfiltered, and fiercely dynamic. 2024 marked a breakthrough year: they headlined their first-ever solo show and completed a nationwide headline tour, proving their draw as a live act.
