Miku Yonezawa (Saxophonist) Miku Yonezawa is Japanese Saxophonist based out of Tokyo. Miku was born in 1992 at Asahikawa, Hokkaido. She started playing saxophone at the age of 8. When she was 11, she started to play with local Jazz big band, which made her got into the world of Jazz. She is the winner of Solo Players Contest at Shobi Music College. While at Shobi, she studied with Akio Miyazaki. Miku actively performs in Tokyo area mainly with her own group and Katsunori Ujiie's Super Project. Though her forte is Jazz and Funk, she has varieties of work around town due to her versatility on the instrument. She often appears at local bars and clubs, recording sessions, big bands, support gigs for artists, jam session hosts, and teaching private lessons. Also, she has been appearing on music educational DVDs. Recent remarks she made includes demonstrating for IK Multimedia and HookUp at Musical Instruments Fair Japan 2014, recording saxophone solo on social idol group "notall"'s "Penguin-Ningen", which got the first place on the Amazon-Japan's digital distribution section in 2015, and appearance at the music festival in Yoyogi Park hosted by Wmiba 2 years in the row as a featured artist. Miku's fascinating saxophone playing can also be heard on various internet radios and SKYCHANNEL on All Nippon Airways (ANA). She also appears as guest on TBS radio program "Tamamusubi". Miku is been recognized as one of the most renowned upcoming female saxophonist in Japan.
