Dj IMAI

DJ Imai began his career as a club DJ based in Kyoto in the mid-90s. In just over two years, he has emerged as a backup DJ for major artists and has been booked as a headliner DJ at parties throughout Japan. In addition to his precision scratching and skillful mixing sense, he is trusted by the nightclub industry for his unique worldview of curating music. In 2003, his name became known to a wider audience with the release of his mixtape "FLOOR," which contained all of the DJ flair and passion he had developed over his long career. The mix tape, "THE BEST OF 2005 LUXURY LOUNGE," released at the end of 2005, sold out in an instant within a week of its release, and charted in the top rankings at major CD shops and record stores in Japan. His reign as a top nightclub DJ for more than 20 years can be attributed to his credibility in the nightclub industry as described above, as well as his skill and sense of making audiences dance. In the past few years, he has also been applying the sense he has developed as a DJ to producing music. His remixes and edits have been played by DJs not only in Japan but also around the world.
