Born in Japan's Chiba Prefecture in Matsudo City Graduated from Chiba University, Pharmaceutical department Influenced by her mother's love for western music,Tamao grew up sorrounded by Latin, R&B,Italian folk songs and many other musical styles.Out of those,African American music intrigued Tamao most and it continues to be the most prominent influence on her own musical style. Tamao started her musical career during her university times,when she participated in a student rock band.But she overstrained her voice and almost ruined her vocal chords! That's when she decided to pick up vocal lessons. So far Tamao studied vocal and song writing under Mr.Makoto Yano,Mrs. Yuka Kamebuchi,Mrs.Ikuko Mariyama and Mrs.Mina Shida.Tamao sings in Japanese,English and Korean. Tamao mainly performed in Tokyo with her soul band,with her original pops band"Tokyo Mikan",with her Japanese jazz band"Shanarishana". November 2011,Tamao has had a hugely successful live in Paris under the title"KIMONO JAZZ" together with Masaaki Mizuguchi(G),and Reikan Kobayashi(Shakuhachi). During the Paris concerts,she also had the opportunity to work together with French accordionist Patrik Nugier. Currently,Tamao performs in duo with pianist,in a trio with pianist and bassist.She tries to fulfill her own potentials. While pursuing her own bands,Tamao is also the director of the gospel team"F.A.Choir" whose popularity she wants to increase and whose members she tries to make shine. Tamao also gives appearances at numerous jazz festivals.
