Kenta Tanaka releases debut album Poetics of Non-Savoir. Poetics of Non-Savoir marks the first solo album by sound artist and guitarist Kenta Tanaka, known for his wide-ranging work across ambient, folk, drone, and improvisation. The album intertwines layers of sound-from field recordings captured in urban and natural environments to poetry readings and electronic textures-creating delicate, abstract soundscapes centered around the guitar. Having exhibited sound art internationally and performed as a member of Shuta Hasunuma Full Philharmonic Orchestra, Tanaka now returns to his roots with an ambient work that reflects his own musical landscape. The album also features guest vocals by Tyler Wright, frontman of the Brooklyn punk band TVOD, whose lyrical voice beautifully merges with Tanaka's ambient guitar textures. Based between Brussels and Tokyo, Tanaka continues to explore the possibilities of guitar improvisation on a global scale. Poetics of Non-Savoir invites listeners into a meditative realm beyond knowledge and experience. Mastered by Chihei Hatakeyama, the album's warm analog sound design gently blends into everyday space, evoking moments of quiet reflection and nostalgia.

Kenta Tanaka. Born in Tokyo in 1993. Guitarist, sound artist, and urban composer. His work attempts to explore the possibilities of urban-themed compositions under the word 'Urban Composition' by applying urban theories and phenomena in the fields of sound arts and experimental music. Recent works include Fictional Soundscapes (2021) for Encounter in Resonance at KIOSK Zwarte Zaal, and Algorithmic Urban Composition (2019) for Linux Audio Conference at Listening Room CCRMA Stanford.
