DJ HI-LOX was born in Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture. He started his career as a DJ in 1993 and opened his own record shop, Natural Records, in 1996. After meeting Minoru Ujita, he broadened his scope of activities and launched the event "Benjamin" in his hometown of Hamamatsu in 2003. The event continues today as a popular party that still draws large crowds. He is a key figure who has driven the Shizuoka hip-hop scene from its early days to the present. His solid sense and deeply human style have earned him trust across generations and genders.
