AIZ

AIZ (AIZ, A-I-Zett) is a popular music unit formed in Tokyo in 2019. With German New Wave (Neue Deutsche Welle) at the helm, the band's origins are laid in genres such as post-punk, no-wave, lo-fi, noise rock, industrial music, and signalwave. Also,The visual images are included an archival VHS footage, Japanese suburban landscapes, lonely rural landscapes and a communist architecture, and Dadaism. We, AIZ, advocate the concept of "Neue Japanische Welle" under the concept of "a common air pocket existence" and "a genius dilettante". The name AIZ is a reference to a propaganda magazine called AIZ (Arbeiter-Illustrierte-Zeitung, Workers' Gazette) published by the German Communist Party in the 1920s and 1930s. Known for the editorial participation of photographer/dadaist John Hartfield (Helmut Herzfeld), AIZ magazine has been described as attempting to resist the regime from an aesthetic using photo montage, a stance shared by AIZ.
