This is a self-produced concept single by "okkaaa", a new generation artist who go across multitude of genres. This song was produced in response to the situation of the coronavirus, as okkaaa's lyricism and smooth whispering voice has reflected the current chaotic society with the unique point of view. The scenery of imagined surface would flash into our mind as the composition of the song seems to be falling to the "sleep". In "awake/asleep", a co-production with LULU, who debuted in October 2019 through self-production, they appeal to various element of music such as alternative R&B, hip-hop, and psychedelic dream, and you would feel the fluid and borderless artistry. As this single was created meditative, beautifully colored by the post-Corona world, and crossing the current scene, it is an addictive masterpiece that will drown you in its worldview once you hear it.

"okkaaa" is an artist/song-writer based in Tokyo, born in 1999. He is known for his signature sophisticated and mellow sounds, as well as his philosophical lyricism rooted in a multitude of genres such as hip hop, R&B and gospel. Inspired by artists such as Daniel Caesar, Hikaru Utada and writer Haruki Murakami, okkaaa produces culture of the next generation at the frontline and crosspoint of various styles of music and art.



In February 2019, "citycity" made the Spotify Japan Viral 50 chart, and in July 2019, he was featured on the cover of Spotify's "Early Noise" project. His viral single 積乱雲 (seki-ran-un) has been picked as one of "Japan's hottest songs of 2019" by multiple curators, and his music has garnered support from Japan's hottest producers, including Grammy nominated producer/DJ starRo.
