Kenji Kanemasu
Composer/arranger/pianist. Born in Tokyo. Graduated from the Department of Music, Faculty of Music, Tokyo University of the Arts. Studied composition with Mr. Jo Kondo. He started playing piano and electronic tones (electronic organs) from an early age, and is widely acquainted with everything from classical music to popular music. After graduating from university, he became interested in Argentine tango by meeting with band neonist Yoshihiro Tanabe, and studied tango piano with Jorge Dragone in Buenos Aires in 2006. Since 2008, he has developed a solo live "Sound Walk" series in a unique style that mixes world music and original music. "Buenos Aires Waltz" is recorded on the CD "Ishimi no Fuuga" (2017) by violinist Iwao Furusawa, and various songs and arrangements are provided to various artists. In addition, Yamaha Music Media has published a number of music arrangements for popular pianos, including "Studio Ghibli Playing with JAZZ Arrangement". As a pianist, in addition to his live performance, he is a pianist for the unit "Sea Turtle" with the shakuhachi player Atsushi Watanabe, and Iwan Furusawa's "Violin Night" national tour pianist. Has been active in a wide range of collaborations with artists from a wide variety of genres and performing in musical orchestras. My hobby is jogging.
