L-VOKAL

Born and raised in Tokyo, Japan. Growing up as a mix, faced perplexity of racial difference but discovers the weakness and strength of being a minority at a young stage in life. During school days L-VOKAL was never a B-boy but freestyled better than most B-boys of his age and instead of selling drugs, sold forged lunch tickets. His first live performance was in 1995 performing as a duo with DJ Marok at "Harajuku LosAngeles". After graduating from high school, attends college in PA and gets hit by the impact of real American Hip-Hop culture. Once returning to Tokyo, he features in DJ Tonk's album, "Aquarian Soul" to set start to his professional music career. Currently L-VOKAL is founder and artist of Matenro Records, and is a member of the Bad Buddha Clique.
