On the production Asian Jazz European Part  / Suite "Poems of the Forest" Human ancestors left Africa and headed west to form the foundation of Europe. Ancestors who headed east became the ancestors of Asians, and then spread to various regions of the Pacific Ocean. This is a story from 70,000 years ago. Ancestors who headed to Europe became Caucasoids, and ancestors who headed east became Mongoloids and Australoids. Ancestors who did not leave Africa became Negroids, and these four major movements created the civilization and culture of humankind. If you look closely at these movements, you can see that people spread concentrically with Africa as the origin point. During the production of my first Asian Jazz work, I found something that struck me as strange: the music of the Ainu people in Hokkaido and the music in Australia share similarities. Why is this? That's what I thought, but as I researched the movement of humankind, I found something that made sense. The origin of humankind was connected, like a contiguous land. The theme of this European Part is "Ancient Celts and Cave Paintings".
Celtic peoples, who are the ancestors of European peoples are concentrated in Northern Europe (Ireland, Scotland and Wales). However, around 2,000 B.C., it is said that there were so many Celtic peoples as to have ruled all of Europe. The Celts are also descendants of Caucasoids who originated from Africa. In Europe, there are cave paintings that are said to have been drawn by human ancestors more than 60,000 years ago. These are the remarkable cave paintings of Altamira
(Spain), Lascaux (France), La Pasiega (Spain), etc. Mural paintings drawn with amazing descriptive power even in the eyes of modern people. No matter which mural you look at, you can see that animals and humans coexisted in nature and lived within a single view of nature. Naturally, this view of nature is animism, the idea that god exists in all things.
I produced seven tracks for this 4th volume of work "Asian Jazz European Part." The instruments used are all modern, but what is important is that many instruments that are thought to have originated in Asia and Africa are also used in Europe. In particular, stringed instruments (guitar, mandolin, lute), bowed stringed instruments (violin, fiddle), woodwind instruments (wooden flutes, etc.), and percussion instruments (bowron/double-sided drum with leather) all originated in Asia and Africa. The various musical instruments have changed under the influence of the unique climates of the various lands, and have created the European music of today's diverse ethnic groups.
