3月10日から15日にかけてアメリカ・テキサス州オースティンにて世界最大級の融合型カンファレンス&フェスティバルSXSW2025のMUSIC FESTIVALが開催される。

同イベントには毎回日本からも音楽アーティストが出演しており、今年も日本のオフィシャルショーケースとして「Tokyo Calling」「Inspired By Tokyo」「Sounds From Japan」などが開催される。また、今回ショーケース出演において、TuneCore JapanとSXSWが連携しオーディションを実施。グローバルな活動を視野に入れた国内アーティストから多くの応募が集まり、同オーディションからも多数アーティストが選出されている。

また、先日2月21日には東京・虎ノ門ヒルズフォーラム ホールBでSXSW Japan主催の「SXSW2025直前ミートアップ@TOKYO」が開催され、SXSW2025に日本から参加する参加者同士が交流。日本からの出演者や出展者の紹介も行われ、イベントを間近に控え国内でも盛り上がりをみせている。
